Ravine Water Park

Ravine Water Park

The “hottest place to stay cool on the Central Coast” is the Paso Robles Ravine Water Park. With a wave pool and two open, winding 325 foot flume rides, free intertubes, life vests and free parking, the park is a great place for families to cool off on a typically, sizzling hot Paso Robles summer day. Open since June 2007, Ravine Water Park has earned a reputation for being extremely clean, having enthusiastic, attentive staff, eighty certified lifeguards, plus a first-aid station with an onsite EMT, and three snack bars offering a decent and affordable fast-food menu. Private, shaded cabanas are available and come with preferred parking next to the entrance and a “cabana girl” for food and drink service throughout the day. Cabanas come with a dining table and lounge chairs and are priced at $45 for weekdays and $75 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Anaconda and Viper rides are fast enough for thrill-seekers but if the flumes are not fast enough, there’s also the Kamakaze, which drops you down a five story slide, through a water brake, screaming all the way. In addition to the Kamakaze, if you’re not claustrophobic, try Vertigo. Slip through a 35 foot, enclosed tube into a bowl that spins you around and finishes off in an eight-foot deep pool of swirling water. For those in mind of a more leisurely water experience, take Kickback Kreek, floating through a meandering waterway past flowers, trees and under park bridges. For kiddies, there’s the 0 to 2 feet deep Tadpool. The Calypso Bay Wave Pool produces waves 2 to 2 ½ feet high every ten minutes for swimming or tubing. A sandy beach with “palapas,” thatch covered umbrellas, and sun deck surround the wave pool for the joys of sunbathing. The great thing about the Ravine is that the activity levels can be appropriate for everyone.

Tickets start at $19.95 per person, 48” or taller and under 48”, $14.95 on weekdays and $22.95/$16.95 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Seniors, 65 and older are $10 all the time. Tickets are also available online. The park is open Memorial Day weekend until mid-September. Hours are 10:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (805) 237-8500
