Original SocialCaptain Reviews 2022 (Pre-Closure)

There’s still a lot to learn about having a business account on Instagram.

While once upon a time it was relatively straightforward, now you really have to play the game to keep up.

This can be time-consuming – especially when you’ve got other aspects of your business to worry about.

However, there are companies out there that will take control of your engagement so that you can focus on the other side of things.

Let’s face it – if you want a legit brand to do well on Instagram, you can’t put all of your time and effort into every part.

You won’t have enough hours in the day. This is why you need to outsource aspects of your Instagram growth to companies that can help.

As we said there is a tonne of them out there, but not all of them can be trusted.

This is the biggest issue in the industry these days – there’s no way that you can figure out for sure is something is a scam or not – not on your own, anyway.

Let’s review SocialCaptain.

What is SocialCaptain?

SocialCaptain Instagram

SocialCaptain is a company that uses automation to carry out your engagement on your behalf.

Their website is transparent about this, at least – a lot of these companies will say that they are there to sell you ‘organic’ engagement when really it’s a bot.

However, we can’t you to use a bot completely – while they can be helpful sometimes, a lot of the time they just end up making your account look spammy, which is the last thing you want.

Let’s give SocialCaptain a review and see how they do.

So, we like Social Captain’s honesty – and we like that their features are always getting updated based on what Insta is doing.

However, there has been talk lately that Social Captain is toeing the line more and more between being a legit company that can help its clients, and becoming a scam that Instagram just wants to try and get rid of completely.

One thing that we do really like about Social Captain is that they have secured their website. This means that their clients don’t have to worry about personal information being put at risk.

A Review of SocialCaptain

First, We’ll Talk About the Positives:

Secure Site

Surprisingly, this engagement company has started out on the right foot. Having an HTTPS website is one of the most important things you could do for your business.

This ensures that any information your clients share with you will be safe from hackers. Plus, it also means that you can be found on Google more efficiently.

Ranking on Google is obviously what we all want to somehow achieve, which is why Social Captain has done this.

However, you’ve got to hand it to them that it does keep you safe at the same time, which can’t be a bad thing.

Visible Pricing

SocialCaptain Pricing

Not only does SocialCaptain have their prices on display for you to look at before you commit to anything, but they also have them featured in a completely different tab on their website.

We don’t like it when a company’s prices are the first thing you see on the homepage – it’s tacky.

Social Captain’s pricing is $15 for a week – a standard in the industry – $39 for a month and $99 for a turbo month, where they put a fire under your engagement so that you can do better than your rivals.

We think that these are all pretty reasonable, and it means that you don’t have to make a long-term commitment when signing up with them.

What isn’t that great is their turbo pricing – it’s a bit much if you don’t really have the budget for it.

24/7 Customer Service

While SocialCaptain doesn’t have a clear FAQ page anywhere, they do have a chat box in the bottom right-hand corner that said they were online when we had a look.

This does give the impression that they are there 24/7 in case you need anything from them. We just wish that they had bothered with an FAQ page as well.

However, there is a rumor going around that their customer support isn’t anything to speak of.

Of course, companies like this need to be held accountable to their clients, and if they want to be legit and taken seriously, they need to have a way for people to get in touch if something goes wrong.

Now, Let’s Talk About the Negatives:

FAQ and Help Page

Like we mentioned, we couldn’t find an FAQ page anywhere on SocialCaptain’s website.

While they do have a ‘how it works’ page, this isn’t the same as an FAQ page and doesn’t give you all the information you need.

We would prefer it if they put a bit of effort into a separate FAQ page that you could look at.

FAQs are obviously going to get you through to the other side where you can make an informed, confident decision about companies like this.

If you don’t have them anywhere, how are you supposed to trust that they are going to take care of your property?

Email and Phone Form

Like a lot of companies like this, SocialCaptain has one main goal in mind – to get you to sign up for their services.

This means that they’re going to make it as easy as possible for you to do so.

For this reason, they don’t have a phone and email form for you to fill out when you first sign up with them – it just gets in the way of you committing to one of their services.

Real Reviews

While SocialCaptain does have a number of reviews on their website – and on Google too, for that matter – that are positive, we have our suspicions that they are fake.

The writing style is all the same & they just don’t appear to be formatted in a way that would imply they’re genuine, leading us to believe that they have forged them.

Authenticated Payment System

As we previously mentioned, SocialCaptain isn’t interested in security – they are merely looking to find the fastest way for you to sign up for their services.

This is why they haven’t put any money or time into making sure that their payment systems are secure.

Don’t ever enter any credit card information into a payment system that isn’t secure.

Previously Shutdown: This company is a SocialDrift rebranded.

Both of these companies were previously shut down by Instagram. If you use this service you risk your account being shut down when they inevitably face Instagram’s legal team.

Being previously shut down obviously doesn’t look good for Social Captain – and we don’t really like that they are being noticed by Instagram.

There is talk that Instagram has started shutting people down who use services like Social Captain, so if you do decide to go with them, your days could be numbered.

They also have terrible reviews on Trustpilot, meaning that they’ve got a lot of unhappy clients at this point.

Top SocialCaptain Alternatives

Is SocialCaptain a Scam? Is SocialCaptain Safe?

We absolutely do not believe that SocialCaptain is safe to use.

While they may have a few incredibly basic features on their website, the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages.

As we suspected, their reviews on Google are fake, which is terribly disappointing. This means that they’ve committed fraud and pretended to be customers who don’t even exist.

Did you mention their reviews on Trustpilot? There is a lot that you can take away from them.

You can take away the idea that Social Captain is a scam, and that the reviews on Trustpilot, compared to the reviews on Google, are actually real and an accurate reflection of what it’s like to use their features.

This should be more than enough of a warning for you if you’re thinking about using a company like this – there are plenty of others out there that are way more worth your time. We can’t in good faith recommend them.

We’ll let you in on another little secret about SocialCaptain – they’re actually a rebrand of two previous engagement companies that have already been shut down by Google: Social Drift and Social Upgrade.

It seems like these guys just don’t get it and want to keep ripping people off.

Do not, for any reason, get anywhere near SocialCaptain.

UPDATED: The following statement is user submitted:

Take this as a warning and find a new service. If you look under the terms and conditions for Buzzoid, Automatic Viral, SocialCaptain, SocialUpgrade, they’re all operated under next series development llc and the owner is Paul Jamil ( ).

He’s @bluewhiskey on Instagram. He uses “Pivotflow” ( a development agency as a front for all the Instagram services.

I have no problem with all of this except for the fact that they’re more concerned about making a dozen different services to make money instead of improving the quality of the ones they currently own.
